Information about Lassithi

The prefecture Lassithi is on the east side of Crete. The main places are Agios Nikolaos, Elounda, Sitia and Ierapetra.
There is a small national airport in Sitia with flights from Athens and some other Greek cities. The tourism centers concentrate around Agios Nikolaos from Elounda until Istron.
One of the most famous places can be found in "Spinalonga" and the palm beaches of Vai. In the south part the City of Irapetra can be found which is the trading center for the local grown fuits and vegetables.
The roadnetwork in Lassithi knows a few main roads and many small roads leading to remote places amongst the coastline.
